Nickelback, 3 Doors Down Reunite For Summer Tour
By Corey Moss (MTV.com)
How does a rock band that's not metal enough for Ozzfest, not punk enough for the Warped Tour and not alternative enough for Lollapalooza spend the summer? With another rock band in the same boat, of course.
3 Doors Down and Nickelback are joining forces for a co-headlining summer tour featuring full sets from both bands. Dates will be announced next week, but a spokesperson for the outing said it will kick off at the end of June and run for at least a month.
The tour marks a reunion for the two bands, who toured together in 2000. "They are like family to us and we have had some amazing times together," Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger said in a statement.
3 Doors Down have been traveling coast-to-coast since January, but for Nickelback, the summer dates will be the band's first American tour in 2004.
Before the trek starts, Nickelback will release "Feelin' Way Too Damn Good," the third single from their double-platinum third album, The Long Road.
Meanwhile, 3 Doors Down, touring in support of their triple-platinum Away From the Sun, have three dates this week in Alabama, including a benefit concert Friday in Mobile to aid children's charities along the Gulf Coast.
Opening acts for the 3 Doors Down and Nickelback tour will also be announced at a later date.
